QUALITY FIRST

The cooperative has 80 professionals in its Department of Technical Attendance, among veterinarians, farming agronomists and technicians.

In quality control there are more than 200 associates among bacteriologists, pharmaceutical chemistries, medical veterinarians and technicians, that inspect and analyze our products in high tech laboratories, that permit us to guarantee quality in both raw and finished products.

As an official recognition of COLANTA’s quality, the ICONTEC, (Colombian Institute of Technical Norms and Certification) and The National Institute of Normalization, as well as a representative of Colombia for the ISO standards, awarded COLANTA with The Certificate of Quality System for Pasteurized Milk Products, in the Medellín factory, after auditing the production processes, and areas directly influenced by the quality of its products and services.
In 2006, the National Institute for Food and Drug Monitoring – INVIMA (Spanish initials) , gave to the plant of meats derivatives in San Pedro the HACCP certification (food safety known).

We continue with the implementation of the ISO 14001 for Environmental Management, NTC OSAS 18001 for Safety and Occupational Health and the HACCP in food safety.

Also, Colanta has been a pioneer in the certification project of Grade A-PMO milk farms (pasteurized milk Ordinance), which is indispensable to obtain authorizations from the U.S. government to export milk towards this country.
